For the past years, the Greater Lakes
Association of REALTORS has done fundraising for Habitat for
Humanity. In
1995 and 1996, the GLAR held an auction with the proceeds going
to Habitat for Humanity.
At our annual golf tournament and annual
Installation of Officers, GLAR members donated money to Habitat
for Humanity.
In 1998, the Greater Lakes
Association at it's annual MAR convention had a silent auction
which allowed a $2000 donation to be presented to Habitat.
In 1999, REALTORS Bill Rickmeyer, Linda Arvig, Brett Anderson and Bev Roach facilitated the sale of a lot
for Habitat a lot in Crosby.
In 2000, a Land Acquisition
Committee was formed and with money from the GLAR and MLS Boards,
Liberty Savings and Universal Title, a lot was purchased for
Habitat in Breezy Point.
The Morrison County Habitat for
Humanity was given approximately $1000 from funds raised from
REALTORS (2003).
The Greater Lakes Bike Ride for
Habitat is our latest fundraising project. In 2005, the
GLAR raised over $12,000. The funds were given to the
Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity.
GLAR members continue to support
Habitat with fundraising.
